    Job Title: Production Assembler

     

    Pay: $16-19/hour dependent on shift

    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated Production Associate/Assembler – Fabrication to join our team in manufacturing large industrial signs. This entry-level role combines general labor and fabrication support, offering hands-on experience with tools, assembly, and production processes. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new skills with opportunities for growth into a trade.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in organizing and maintaining facility operations across multiple departments.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.

    + Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand and power tools such as saws, drills, hammers, and screwdrivers.

    + Operate fabrication equipment and assist in welding and assembly of metal components when required.

    + Support production stations by retrieving tools, performing basic assemblies, and preparing materials.

    + Break down pallets and wooden fixtures using hand and power tools including jig saws and hand saws.

    + Remove and dispose of wood, aluminum scraps, and other excess materials; palletize materials for disposal.

    + Assist with packaging, palletizing, and preparing products for shipment.

    + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.

    + Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and adapt to changing daily tasks.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or vocational/technical school equivalent.

    + 0–3 years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or general labor.

    + Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

    + Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work in a physically active environment.

    + Must not be afraid of heights.

    + Punctual and reliable with zero tolerance for no-call/no-shows.

    + Team-oriented with good communication skills.

    + Must provide steel-toe boots; PPE such as gloves, glasses, and vests will be provided.

    + Must bring warm clothing for outdoor tasks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Physical strength to lift up to 60 pounds.

    + Proficiency in using hand and power tools including hand saws and jig saws.

    + Adaptability to changing daily tasks.

    + Strong attendance and punctuality.

    + Comfort with climbing ladders up to 6 feet.

    + Safety awareness and adherence to protocols.

    + Reliable transportation to work.

    + Efficient and effective task completion.

    + Ability to work well with others and follow directions.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. The position is for the 2nd Shift/Overnight from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 5:00 AM, with potential overtime on Saturdays. Initial training will be on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5/6 PM. Employees must be prepared to stay for the entire shift. Breaks include a 15-minute break at 9:30 AM, a 30-minute lunch at 12:00 PM, and a 15-minute break at 3:30 PM.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
