Job Title: EDM Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking skilled EDM Machinists to join our dynamic team in Warren, MI. Our facility is a family-owned, third-generation shop known for its clean environment and state-of-the-art machinery. As a job shop, we thrive on variety, crafting tooling for cold header/fastener machines, as well as for the construction and aerospace sectors. With weekly orders and an output of 50-60 million parts annually, this role offers a stimulating and varied work experience.

Responsibilities

+ Perform daily setup, programming, running, and inspection of parts using EDM machines.

+ Program using the controls LN2, LN1, or Mastercam from scratch.

+ Handle all machine operations from start to finish, including setup, tool changes, offsets, and programming the controller.

+ Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

+ Utilize personal toolbox and tools effectively.

+ Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.

+ Work primarily with steel materials and hold tight tolerances.

+ Bring experience from a prototype or similar job shop environment.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of experience operating EDM machines, specifically Sodick equipment.

+ Proficiency in reading blueprints.

+ Experience with programming on controls LN2, LN1, and Mastercam.

+ Ability to use measurement tools such as mics, calipers, and bore gauges.

+ Experience in maintaining tight tolerances.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Mastercam programming experience is desirable.

+ Experience with tooling for fasteners is a plus.

Work Environment

Our shop is clean and equipped with modern machines, fostering a productive and efficient workspace. As a third-generation family-owned business, we offer a welcoming environment with many long-tenured employees who contribute to a knowledgeable and stable team. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:30am to 4pm, with some Saturday shifts from 5:30am to 10:30am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
