Job Description​

Hedrick Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Chillicothe, MO, is seeking a BC/BE family medicine physician to join a well-established outpatient clinic as part of Saint Luke’s in Kansas City, MO.

Position Highlights:

+ This role offers a traditional primary care panel with the opportunity to broaden your practice scope in a rural setting

+ Our primary care clinic is part of a hospital-based multispecialty campus, offering on-site access to a wide range of specialists, including OB/GYN and General Surgery in the same clinic, for a highly collaborative environment

+ Enjoy a balanced schedule with a 4-day work week (32 patient contact hours) plus one dedicated admin day; no weekends required

+ The ideal candidate will be supported by excellent MA’s and nurses, with strong collaboration with APPs

+ Physicians have the option to round at local nursing homes; routine clinic call is handled by APPs

+ Opportunity to precept medical students, if desired

+ Patients with acute conditions have access to same-day clinic appointments for timely care; imaging and laboratory services are offered onsite to streamline patient care

+ Fully integrated Epic EMR

+ As a non-profit organization, employees qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)

About Hedrick Medical Center

Hedrick Medical Center (HMC) in Chillicothe, MO, has delivered high-quality health care to Livingston County and the surrounding communities since its inception in 1972. A city-owned, not-for-profit critical access hospital, HMC is a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in north-central Missouri. HMC moved into a state of the art building in 2014, demonstrating the city of Chillicothe and the health system’s dedication to our rural community. The 25-bed acute care hospital offers comprehensive care, including a 24-hour emergency department staffed by board certified physicians, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic testing, a Women's Center featuring 3-D mammography, inpatient and outpatient surgery & rehabilitation services, ICU & PCU level care with eICU monitored beds, a specialty clinic that offers infusion and sleep lab services, and primary care offices adjoining the facility. In 2019, the hospital was awarded the prestigious Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey for reaching the 95th percentile for clinical quality.

About Chillicothe, MO

Chillicothe lies in the heart of a rich agricultural section of the state 90 miles northeast of Kansas City and is the largest community in north central Missouri. Known as the Home of Sliced Bread, Chillicothe’s population is currently around 9,000 with Livingston County having a total population of close to 15,000. The community has a lot to offer to both individuals and families including an 18-hole public golf course, a bowling alley, movie theater, skating rink, numerous restaurants including many chains & locally owned establishments, retail shopping, a water park, baseball complexes & recreational parks, the Grand River Area Family YMCA, and many other enjoyable activities.
