Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
The role involves assembling complex components, including gating systems, in a varied and non-repetitive manner to produce mold forms for investment. The position requires reading and following technical card assembly instructions, planning methods for completing tasks, and using small torches, hot pencils, and tools resembling dental instruments to assemble and weld gates into place. Additionally, you will work from instructions to position wax patterns and develop code sheets for engineering-requested modifications or deviations to standard assemblies.
Responsibilities
+ Pre-inspect pattern and gating components.
+ Read and follow tech card assembly instructions detailing complex assembly steps.
+ Utilize small torches, hot pencils, and various tools to assemble components.
+ Weld gates into position using torch or hot pencils.
+ Work from instructions to position wax patterns and develop code sheets.
+ Implement engineering modifications or deviations to standard assemblies.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in assembly and use of hand tools.
+ Experience with blueprint and schematic reading.
+ Mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
+ Soldering and use of power tools.
+ Ability to measure and work with precision using tape measures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
+ THC friendly.

Work Environment
This position is set in a diverse manufacturing environment characterized by various zones. You will encounter forklifts, machinery, chemical odors, and temperature extremes. The assembly zone involves standing and sitting in well-lit areas using small tools and adjustable platforms. Other areas include the foundry with temperature extremes and large equipment, the investing zone with strong chemical odors, grinding booths that are loud, dusty, and hot, and sandblast booths that are also hot, loud, and dusty. The cleaning area uses pressure washers, shot blasts, and hand tools, while the utility aide role involves using forklifts and pallet jacks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.17 - $24.17/hr.
