    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Are you passionate about food safety and quality? Join our team as a **Micro Lab Technician** , where your work directly impacts the health and satisfaction of our customers. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for conducting microbiological testing on food products to ensure they meet the highest safety and quality standards before reaching consumers.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Receive and prepare samples (raw, in-process, and finished products) for microbiological, analytical, and sensory testing.

    + Conduct a variety of tests—qualitative, quantitative, analytical, and sensory—following established SOPs to ensure product safety and quality.

    + Accurately record and manage test data using notebooks, databases, and spreadsheets.

    + Evaluate test results against specifications and promptly report any deviations.

    + Place non-conforming products or ingredients on hold and initiate appropriate notifications.

    + Release approved products and communicate results to relevant teams.

    + Generate and review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as needed.

    + Prepare and sterilize media solutions and lab materials.

    + Safely autoclave biohazards and maintain sterile lab conditions.

    + Perform environmental swabbing and analyze results to ensure facility hygiene.

    + Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025 standards for laboratory competence.

    + Participate in proficiency testing and maintain high performance scores.

    + Calibrate, verify, and maintain lab equipment to ensure accuracy.

    + Keep workspaces clean and organized, including storage areas.

    + Support company-wide quality initiatives and collaborate across departments.

    + Communicate quality concerns effectively and promptly.

    + Follow all safety, GMP, HACCP, and SQF guidelines to maintain product integrity and certification.

    + Perform other duties as assigned to support lab and company operations.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    + Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Strong ability to read and interpret safety and procedural documents.

    + Effective written and verbal communication skills.

    + Solid math skills, including basic calculations and data interpretation.

    + Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

    + Familiarity with GMPs, GLPs, and sanitation protocols.

    + Understanding of microbiological and analytical testing methods.

    + Basic proficiency in MS Office and SAP for data entry and reporting.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.

    + Additional experience or training that supports the essential functions of the role.
