Position Overview

International Motors is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our EHS initiatives at our state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX just south of San Antonio.
This hands-on, individual contributor role is a key player in shaping our safety culture and environmental performance. You’ll lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of our EHS programs while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
You’ll play a vital role in integrating environmental, health, and safety programs across the site—contributing to a culture of excellence, sustainability, and operational integrity.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and support site safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives by developing, implementing, and monitoring programs that align with ISO 9001 standards.
+ Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental and workplace safety.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and collaborate with external consultants and internal departments when needed. Ensure timely submission of all required reports.
+ Conduct risk assessments for new and existing equipment and processes, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
+ Manage hazardous waste inventory and disposal processes, working closely with suppliers to ensure proper handling and compliance.
+ Develop and maintain safety programs such as emergency response, ergonomic assessments, fall protection, hazardous material handling, spill response, and ISO 14001 compliance.
+ Investigate workplace incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
+ Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs to employees, ensuring records are maintained and compliance is continuously met.
+ Collaborate across departments to promote a culture of safety through training, mentoring, coaching, and regular audits. Oversee EHS-related equipment and resources.
+ Track and report EHS performance metrics, sharing insights with site leadership and corporate compliance teams.
+ Support additional EHS-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least 8 years of health, fire safety or safety experience
+ At least 2 years of management experience
OR
+ Master’s degree
+ At least 6 years of health, fire safety or safety experience
+ At least 2 years of management experience
OR
+ At least 10 years of health, fire safety or safety experience
+ At least 2 years of management experience
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
+ Proven hands-on experience in EHS site management, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
+ In-depth knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and Texas-specific regulatory agencies (e.g., TCEQ, SPCC, SWP).
+ Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards.
+ Familiarity with air emissions, ozone-depleting substances (ODS), and environmental permitting/reporting.
+ Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external agency relationships.
+ Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams); database experience a plus.
+ Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
