Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV) supports the commercialization of university technology through technology licensing, the development of sponsored research agreements, and venture creation. We serve as business advisors to investigators at all ten schools of the university whose research has commercial potential. Our resources include intellectual property protection, technology analysis, marketing and licensing support, translational and venture funding support, physical space through our FastForward innovation hubs, and professional services such as mentorship, pro bono legal and accounting services, and educational programming.
Reporting to the Director Technology Licensing, we are seeking a **_Technology Licensing Analyst_** who will support technology licensing activities by performing assessments of new technologies and assisting licensing associates in planning the department’s management of these technologies. The Technology Licensing Analyst, in the course of normal assignments, will learn about all of the various components of technology licensing.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Review and understand technologies disclosed to JHTV.
+ Analyze commercial factors such as market size, developmental risk and competitive environment.
+ Identify obligations incurred through funding sources, material transfer agreements and other agreements that may impact the ability of JHTV to license the technology.
+ Through on-the-job training, develop a working knowledge of the technology licensing process, marketing, business development, sales and the negotiation of technology transfer agreements.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a life or physical science.
+ Two (2) years experience in related field.
+ U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident required due to Federal Export Controls.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $62,900 - $110,100 Annually ($86,500 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
