    Job Title:** **Onsite Refrigeration/Freezer Building Technician

    Job Description

    As a Onsite Refrigeration/Freezer Building Technician, you will be responsible for performing both preventative and corrective maintenance across various building systems, primarily focusing on mechanical equipment and facility infrastructure. Your role will involve contract procurement, vendor oversight, and managing event operations, requiring interaction with multiple departments and external vendors. You will also act as a primary responder to building emergencies, including power outages, plumbing leaks, fire alarms, and security issues.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with the Building Automation System, including alarms and equipment malfunctions.

    + Execute routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot, diagnose, and facilitate repairs on all building systems and equipment.

    + Service commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, refrigerators, and dishwashers.

    + Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks and clogs, and replace fixtures.

    + Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, replace outlets, and perform wiring modifications.

    + Maintain hydrotherapy pools, ensuring cleanliness and chemical balance.

    + Perform carpentry tasks including repairs on doors, cabinets, and furniture.

    + Conduct painting and drywall repair to maintain surfaces.

    + Perform annual fire suppression inspections and HVAC maintenance.

    + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history using a CMMS.

    + Inspect the facility daily for faults and take initiative in repairs or replacements.

    + Assist in developing the annual repair and maintenance budget and long-term facility planning.

    + Coordinate and optimize vendor relationships, including contract execution and performance evaluation.

    + Support continuous improvement initiatives and future greening efforts.

    + Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.

    + Provide initial approval on invoices and oversee document retention for contracts and building drawings.

    Essential Skills

    + Previous experience in building maintenance within a commercial, industrial, or institutional environment.

    + High School diploma/GED and 10+ years of work experience or an associate degree, technical certification, or higher.

    + Minimum of 8 years of experience in facility maintenance.

    + Strong knowledge and technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing kitchen equipment, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

    + Proficiency in minor electrical work and plumbing repairs.

    + Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO) License preferred or ability to obtain certification.

    + Working knowledge of carpentry, masonry, and other building trades.

    + Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and data management.

    + Ability to read building plans and blueprints.

    + Proficiency in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

    + Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to safely operate and possess or obtain an operator’s license for forklifts and lifts.

    + Comfort with heights and ability to respond to after-hours support within 60 minutes.

    + Physical capability for strenuous activity and ability to lift and move loads as required.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is set within a 38-acre complex that houses the headquarters of an internationally known sports team. Facilities include four outdoor practice fields, an indoor training center with artificial turf, conference rooms, an auditorium, locker rooms, sports medicine areas, and various sports and recreational amenities. Employees will work in a flexible environment that may require non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays, in a state-of-the-art complex equipped with modern technologies and facilities.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Lake Forest, IL.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
