Vice President of Emergency Services
**Location:** Kingwood, TX
**Employment Type:** Full-Time | Executive Leadership
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Vice President of Emergency Services to lead a large, high-volume Emergency Services service line within a complex acute care healthcare organization. This executive leader will be responsible for overseeing adult, pediatric, and freestanding emergency departments, driving quality outcomes, operational excellence, financial performance, and service line growth.
Compensation
+ **Base Salary Range:** $142,958 – $214,448
+ **Target Annual Bonus:** 17.5% (performance-based, with up to 150% upside)
+ **Sign-On Bonus:** Available on a case-by-case basis
+ **Relocation Assistance:** Available on a case-by-case basis
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
+ Lead service line strategy, operational planning, and business development initiatives
+ Oversee multi-site emergency department operations, including adult, pediatric, and freestanding EDs
+ Partner with executive leadership and physicians to align emergency services with organizational goals
+ Drive patient throughput, capacity planning, and flow optimization initiatives
Quality, Safety & Patient Experience
+ Champion evidence-based practice, patient safety, and quality improvement
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and accreditation standards
+ Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and clinical excellence
+ Develop and execute strategies to elevate patient experience and satisfaction
People & Culture
+ Lead and mentor senior leaders, including multiple Directors of Emergency Services
+ Build and sustain a high-performing, engaged workforce
+ Oversee staffing models, labor productivity, and workforce planning
+ Support leadership development, succession planning, and retention initiatives
Financial & Resource Management
+ Develop and manage operating and capital budgets
+ Monitor financial performance and implement cost containment and optimization strategies
+ Evaluate ROI for capital investments and service expansion initiatives
+ Ensure effective labor and resource utilization
Growth & Market Positioning
+ Identify opportunities for service line growth, innovation, and differentiation
+ Stay current on healthcare trends, reimbursement changes, and competitive dynamics
+ Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support growth
Scope of Responsibility
+ Oversight of adult and pediatric emergency departments and multiple freestanding EDs
+ Direct leadership of multiple Directors, with managers and clinical leaders reporting through them
+ Responsibility for approximately 160 FTEs
+ Leadership of emergency departments with high annual patient volumes (80,000+ visits)
Qualifications
Required
+ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field
+ Master’s degree (required)
+ Active RN license (compact or applicable state license)
+ BLS certification
+ Minimum 5 years of recent Director-level Emergency Services leadership experience
+ Experience leading Emergency Departments in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
+ Proven leadership in high-volume ED environments (80,000+ annual visits)
Preferred
+ Multi-site emergency services leadership experience
+ Strong background in physician engagement, performance improvement, and change leadership

**Pay Details:** $142,958.00 to $214,448.00 per year
