Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Construction Technician to assist with building erection work involving iron, steel, and metal. The role involves erecting pre-engineered buildings, bolting steel joints into place, guiding beams, running insulation, and performing standing seam flat roof work.
Responsibilities
+ Assist crew in erecting pre-engineered buildings.
+ Bolt steel joints into the correct position and guide beams into place.
+ Run insulation and bolt on siding.
+ Engage in standing seam flat roof work.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years experience in steel/iron erecting of pre-engineered buildings.
+ Proficiency in operating scissor lifts and boom lifts.
+ Ability to interpret blueprints for pre-engineered buildings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with standing seam roofing is a plus.
+ Certification in boom/scissor lift operation.

Work Environment
Work involves both outdoor and indoor settings, occasionally in dirty conditions, requiring a hands-on approach. Projects span commercial buildings, institutional facilities, medical centers, food processing plants, industrial sites, warehousing, and retail spaces. Employees work Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts starting at 7am, and must communicate if they desire overtime. Travel is within a 60-mile radius of Fort Wayne, with compensation for travel beyond 50 miles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
