    Job Title: Horizontal Boring Mill Operator** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist to join our team for the 2nd shift from 5pm to 3am/5am. You will operate, program, set up, and edit CNC Horizontal Boring Mills in a dynamic job/fab shop environment. The role involves working on large products for various industries, utilizing your expertise in reading blueprints, checking tolerances, and writing programs. You will also engage in conversational programming and apply GD&T standards while using other shop tools to fulfill work orders.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate CNC Horizontal Boring Mills efficiently.

    + Program and set up CNC machines to meet job specifications.

    + Edit existing programs to improve machining processes.

    + Read and interpret blueprints to ensure precise manufacturing.

    + Check tolerances with micrometers and calipers.

    + Write and assist in writing CNC programs.

    + Apply conversational programming techniques.

    + Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) standards.

    + Perform set-ups and tear-downs as required.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years experience operating, setting up, and programming Horizontal Boring Mills in a job shop environment.

    + Proficiency in CNC machining and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs).

    + Experience with GD&T, working with extremely tight tolerances.

    + Knowledge of G & M Code (Machine Control Language).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Mazak Machines using Mazatrol Systems is a plus.

    + Okuma or Heidenhain experience is desirable.

    + Familiarity with conversational machine control language.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $83000.00/yr.
